Born on February 16, 1988 in the Guruve district in Zimbabwe, Michael Muchanyuri is a truly talented sculptor with a lifelong fascination with shapes and stones. He received his education at Mamini primary and secondary schools in Zimbabwe and began sculpting in 2008. Muchanyuri started his career at Tsindi Galleries in Hatfield Zimbabwe under the guidance of Mr. David Ngwerume, well-known artist and lawyer in Zimbabwe. After working as an assistant for several years, in 2012 Muchanyuri decided to start working on his own, taking complete creative control and direction. His inspiration comes from natural shapes and his own creative imagination. He specializes in unique stones such as laprodite and springstone. Muchanyuri’s work can be found in private collections in the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Korea and the United Kingdom.
